Dancing Bee Winery and Walker Honey Farm 🐝

We have moved to the Dancing Bee Winery and Walker Honey Farm in Rogers, Texas. We are staying as their guests as members of Harvest Hosts.

The Dancing Bee Winery and Walker Honey Farm

Harvest Host is a membership club that has a lot of wineries, breweries, farms, golf courses, etc. where you can boondock for free. Most of these places offer goods or services and when you boondock on their property, you are expected to buy something.

The people here at the Dancing Bee Winery are super nice, and they have a great selection of Meads or wine made with distilled honey. They also have a huge selection of different flavors of honey. Honey gets its flavor from the different flowers the bees are pollinating.

Boondocking

Boondocking is camping without electric, water or sewer hookups. You have to use your batteries, generator, solar, or propane if you want any power or heat. And if you want water, you have to use your freshwater, gray water, black water, and water pump. Some people are set up to boondock indefinitely. I think we could probably boondock for about 4 or 5 days before we would have to find a dump station and unload the sewer and refill our gas and water.

Boondoking

We did not choose a good week to boondock. Last night it got down to 36 degrees, and it only got up to the mid-fifties today. So Sherry is complaining about the cold, and of course I don’t want to waste our propane for heat.

It will be a little warmer the next couple nights, but last week would have been much better when it was getting into the 50s at night and mid-70s in the daytime.

I know my friends and family at home will not feel sorry for us. The high at home today was 10 degrees, and the low tonight is supposed to be -1 degree.

Boondocking at the Dancing Bee Winery and Walker Honey Farm

It is a good thing our commute was short. Since we are boondocking here they gave us a free wine sampling. We expected maybe a couple of shot glasses of wine each.

They gave us each six, 1/2 glasses each. Even though we are not wine connoisseurs, there were several that we both liked. However there were also a few that Sherry did not like so I had more than my fair share. I was feeling pretty good for the short walk back to our RV.ðŸĪŠ

Dr. Pepper Museum and Magnolia

Sherry wants to go to the Dr Pepper Museum and Magnolia Market Silos, the Chip and Joanna Gains empire. Then we plan to head south towards Austin, and then San Antonio.
