Winter in Southern Florida

Winter in Southern Florida

After harvesting sugar beets in North Dakota, we were ready for a nice warm winter in southern Florida. So we headed for Silver Palms RV Resort in Okeechobee where we had jobs lined up for the season. First Impressions Just inside the main gates to Silver Palms is one of 5 lakes. The owners around the lake have decorated their palm trees around the lake with blue spotlights. It is a sight to behold. Silver Palms RV Resort is a…

Miles

As you probably noticed I am way behind on this but the idea came to me in the middle of the night. Out of curiosity, I wanted to know all the miles we have traveled when on our exploration of the country. Of course, there were some breaks because of Covid and getting the house ready to sell/rent. In all, we have spent 12 months on the road in our 1 year and 7 months of retirement bliss. Sherry Start…

Finding the Cheapest Diesel Fuel Prices

Finding the Cheapest Diesel Fuel Prices

This blog is just a quick tip for our RV friends who use diesel fuel. There is a trucking company called TSD Logistics. They buy their diesel in bulk and the more they buy, the lower their price. So they decided to include RVer’s. This means we can get diesel at a greatly reduced price. When you sign up, TSD Logistics will send you a credit card from ESV and it is absolutely free. You can only use this credit…

Family in the Twin Cities, MN

Family in the Twin Cities, MN

As we were planning our trip up north, we planned to spend a few days visiting family in the Twin Cities, MN. Sherry’s niece Amanda and her family live in a suburb called Woodbury. We only spent one night boon-docking in a Camping World parking lot in Lakeville, MN. We can not believe…

Unfortunately because of the Corona Virus, brewery tours were not available at the time we were there. However, we did get to go on the self-guided tour of the ABA National Brewery Museum. Sherry’s grandfather was a long time bar owner and for several years I have collected and…

On the Road Again, FINALLY!

On the Road Again, FINALLY!

We are On the Road Again, FINALLY! It took us 6 months of selling, throwing away, giving away, and donating all the junk we had accumulated in the last 23 years that we have lived in our home. We had to sell everything one piece at a time since we could not have an auction as we planned because of Covid19. After the delay from selling nearly everything ourselves, we were nearly ready to list the house. Then in late…

This Song Sums it Up

This Song Sums it Up

This song perfectly sums up our life on the road. We loved life on the road and can’t wait to get the house sold and get back on the road. This Corona thing has slowed us down a little. HOME SWEET HOME IN MY RV by Roger ‘Hurricane” Wilson We’ll be on the road and posting more blogs soon.

Thanks to Coronavirus we’re home early.

Thanks to Coronavirus we’re home early.

Just a quick note to let our friends and family know, thanks to Coronavirus we’re home early. We were supposed to be at a summit for people who travel full time and work on the road. We were going to try to find new ways to make money as we travel to supplement our retirement. I think they were expecting over 300 people at the summit. Well, thanks to the Coronavirus it was canceled. Also, the state park where we…
