When you close the doors, one or both of the cables would get caught between the door and the jam preventing the doors from being latched. So we needed to come up with a simple solution for toy-haler cables.
The moral of the story: Get a pre-purchase inspection. The few hundred dollars it cost you upfront, could save you hundreds or thousands of dollars and many hours of agonizing labor.
However, what most people don’t realize is if you ever get stopped, they could make you go to a scale and get weighed. If you are over your GVWR or any of your towing capacities, you could get a huge fine. But what is even worse, if you would ever get in or cause an accident, your insurance company probably would not cover you.
