Livingston County Trail System, Gilbertsville, KY
We stumbled on the Livingston County Trail System. It was right next to a nice little campground we stayed at, Tween the Lakes, Near Kentucky and Barkley Lakes.
Livingston County Trail System is a very nice and long multi-use trail system for hiking, and biking. It wanders through woods and grasslands, under high wire power lines and next to a beautiful little lake and a few streams. There are a few really steep hills to get your heart rate up whether walking, running, or biking.
Below you’ll find a pictorial from the trail.

The Land Between the Lakes area is one of our favorite spots; we made numerous trips there, mostly at the campgrounds, but we’ve also stayed at cabins erected for TVA workers when the dam system was built.
So much to see!
Yes, it is a wonderful place, I have been there before. But the 4 days we spent there were mostly rainy and most businesses were shut down due to the coronavirus. So all we did is drive around and hike this trail. They wouldn’t even let us drive trough the state campgrounds to check them out for future plans.
