Let’s Eat- Little Rock, Arkansas
Hi Sherry here. As we travel across the 50 states I am going to blog about different restaurants we visit. Mind you I will not be posting something every day ( do you know who I am married too?) Maybe this blog will help me get to explore the local cuisine, without to much complaining from Tim.
First a little about my background. I spent about 11 years as a school cook for a private school. Also During that time I spent 3 years running the concession stand at the local boys baseball field. After that I worked at a local bakery for 3 years, however I only worked the front counter. The last 4 years I worked as a assistant cook for a tea room.
A food snob I am not. That being said, I do like being able to go out for dinner and not having to cook for Tim and I on any given night. Tim is strictly a meat and potatoes type of guy and getting him to try anything new is always a hassle. A digestive issue keeps me from being able to eat anything with tomato in it. Food items containing tomato I will leave for Tim to try and I will use his feedback on those food items. So lets get started.
David’s Burgers
The first restaurant we visited qualifying for a review is David’s Burgers of Little Rock Arkansas. We actually boondocked at the Bass Pro Shops across the street from this place, on 12/30/2019. David’s Burgers is a franchised restaurant of 10 locations. This place is a order at the counter and they bring your order out to your table, type of establishment. Hamburgers, chicken sandwiches and a few salads are on the menu. For your burger toppings you can choose from american, cheddar or pepper jack cheese. Plus mayo, mustard, lettuce, onions, tomatoes and pickles. For a little extra, bacon, jalapenos, grilled onions and grilled mushrooms.. For the children they have a grilled cheese and a kids burger. All meals come with a fries and a drink.
Tim and I both ordered the number 1 combo. After we were given a waxed paper sheet. An employee comes around with hot fries, fresh from the fryer. The order is cooked to order, at David’s Burgers. It took no longer than ten minutes for our food to show up. By then had our fill of fries, but we were still able to get the burgers down. Tim and I both were too full to try the soft-serve ice cream for dessert. Our total for dinner was $18.83. I highly recommend this establishment and would definitely go back to try the other items on the menu. If we get back to Arkansas I will make Tim stop again at David’s Burgers.
