Bayview RV Resort, Rockport, TX
We stayed at Bayview RV Resort in Rockport, TX 1/27/2020 – 2/3/2020. Bayview is a big park, with 350+ RV sites. Both my Verizon and Sherry’s AT&T had good reception in the park. Our OTR Mobile hotspot also had a strong connection. They have full hookups, including cable. They have free WiFi, but only at the clubhouse.
Many activities available
Speaking of the clubhouse, they also have a lot of organized activities; poker, potlucks, fish fries, pickleball, quilting, and bingo just to name a few. I played in one poker tournament, but other than that we were just too busy seeing the sights. Bayview RV Resort is in a great location for area attractions.
They are a Passport America campground, so we had substantial savings. Our cost was $157.50 for the week.
Issues
The staff was always friendly, if not the most helpful. When we checked in, they told us the spot we had reserved was taken because someone was coming in to stay full-time, so they had priority over us. So they gave us a new site. After working our way back through their very rough roads, and under several low hanging branches we had to dodge, we found the spot they gave us was way too small. Our rig is 43 feet long, and the sight they gave us would probably only fit a 30-foot max rig.
So we sat there and called the office 3 different times and they never answered. We had to drive all the way back up, towing our rig through the rough roads again. When I questioned them, about not answering, they said that they were very busy. There were no customers there either time we were there and there were 3 ladies working. But maybe in the 10 minutes we were out they had a rush???
Then they told us there were only 2 possible spots we could fit in. The first was again too short, but the other was fine. We did end up in a spot we liked, even though it was way in the back of the park and we had to traverse the rough roads any time we had to leave. The cost to repave this whole site would be very expensive, but I would think they could at least get a road grader in to level it off some. Oh, and the spot we were originally assigned is still vacant and we leave tomorrow morning. Someone doesn’t know what they are doing.
As I mentioned they have cable available, however, the cable didn’t work. We had a very snowy picture. When we asked them about it, they just told us to check our booster. We never did get it to work, and we didn’t go back because we just don’t watch that much TV. We did have local channels we could get, so at least we got to watch my only football game of the year the Superbowl big game.
Good experience overall
There were some maintenance and negative issues, but overall we had a pretty good experience here at Bayview RV Resort. We would not rule this resort out if we were back in the area, but we would also look at other options too. We can only assume that some of the maintenance issues are still from hurricane Harvey 2 1/2 years ago.

Looks like a nice place. Maybe you should give the resorts start ratings. Like 3 out of 5.
Nice looking photos. Thanks
