Tacky Jacks

Tacky Jacks is a quirky, off the wall restaurant. There are three locations in Alabama, one at Gulf Shores, one in Orange Beach, and one in Fort Morgan. We visited the Gulf Shores location which is right on the Intracostal Waterway. As you can see in the pictures below patrons are given a piece of colorful duct tape at the hostess station. On the duct tape, you can add your signature, love note, or a funny phrase and sick it wherever you can find a place for all to see.

They have indoor and outdoor seating. It was just a little cool and breezy the day we were there, so we chose to eat inside.

Garbage Can Nachos

We were with our cousins Cindy and Dennis and they suggested we order the Mexican Garbage Nachos and share them. The nachos were corn tortillas topped with seasoned beef, two kinds of cheese, tomatoes, onions, black olives, sour cream, salsa, and jalapeno peppers. The garbage can lid sized nachos was more than enough for the four of us. We even brought some home. Tim and I both thought they were the best nachos we have ever eaten.

We really enjoyed our time here, especially with the wonderful company. It was great hanging out with Cindy and Dennis. They were full of knowledge of what to see and do while we were in Gulf Shores. Unfortunately, our limited time in the area meant we didn’t get to do even a fraction of the things we wanted to do.

Tim and I were going to try to come back to Tacky Jacks but there was so many other choices in Gulf Shores we ran out of time. This is a spot we will definitely be coming back to the next time we visit Gulf Shores.
